What is Grounding?

Staying grounded can be challenging in the uncertain times we are navigating on the earth today. It’s easy to get caught in the past and also fall into anxiety, fear and worry of what the future moments, days, and months are going to bring. So what is grounding and how can it help us be more present, heal, and connect more within and without? Grounding is when one is grounded and connected to their being and the earth. Grounding is also know as Earthing. One of the quickest ways to ground is by putting our skin in direct contact with the earths electrical floor. We can do this by walking or lying down. Have you ever felt better after walking barefoot on the beach or lying down on the grass? Well, when we kick off our shoes and make contact with the earth we are able to absorb the negative ions it gives off and therefore neutralize our bodies and can heal at a cellular level. These negative ions can be absorbed through our skin.

Signs of being ungrounded:

Anxious, Stressed, Worried

Overwhelmed

Tired/Exhausted

Nervousness

Lack of focus and concentration

Overstimulated

Forgetfullness

Meditation

Breathing exercises

Soaking up the sunlight

Connecting with a higher power

Enjoying the simple things life offers

Taking a dip in the ocean, a lake, or a river

Spending more time outside connecting in nature

Eat grounding and rooted foods such as carrots, beets, potatoes, garlic, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, and foods red and orange in color
