ABOUT JESS

Hii, I’m Jess! Originally from Grand Rapids, MI, I grew up living an active lifestyle and spent much of my time playing outside and participating in multiple sports. I’ve had a love for movement, nature, learning, and the human body for as long as I can remember and something thats always intrigued me is metaphysics and exploring the fundamental nature of our existance. I’ve always dreamed of having my own wellness practice so I can help others unlock their potential, relieve pain and suffering, and improve their health, naturally.

I studied Exercise Science in undergrad and was also a student athlete. After graduating in 2016 I set out to pursue a lifelong dream of moving to San Diego, CA. My first summer in San Diego I completed a 14 week sports performance internship. During the internship I realized that although I loved sports, it wasn’t the field I truly felt called to work in. I enjoyed it and learned a lot but I was also slowly learning that health, healing and well-being has to do with so much more than the physical.

Since I wasn't technically an athlete anymore I had to find who I was outside of this persona and identity and learn what other passions I had and what else could make me feel alive like sports. ”Who am I without sports?” My 20s were a time to figure this out. After experiencing over-training while being a student athlete, I decided I needed to slow down a bit and so I began practicing yoga, breath work, and meditation to balance out strength and conditioning training. Not only did this help me create a deeper connection with my body but my mind and spirit as well.

From my personal experience with over-working, burnout, stress, a poor relationship with food and my body, and seeing family members experience chronic illness’, I was inspired to create a more calm and peaceful space for people to come to in a world so over stimulated, over-worked and fast-paced. A space to be understood, create balance, slow down and receive a breath of fresh air.

I embrace a personalized and integrative approach when working with clients and consider the mind, body, spirit, environment and genetics. My educational background is in exercise science, holistic health sciences based on quantum physics, yoga, breath work and I’m currently in grad school studying clinical nutrition and integrative health. I’m passionate about encouraging, educating, and inspiring others to be more in harmony with themselves and nature, simplify healthy living, integrate wholeness and vitality and help people ride their unique wave to total wellness.

In my free time you can mostly find me at the beach, its my 2nd home. Whether just laying on it listening to the waves and soaking up the sun, jumping in, running, walking, getting a bodyweight workout in, watching sunsets or learning to surf ~ I LOVE the sun & sea.

I also love spending time at coffee shops doing work, studying and connecting with new people. Road~trippin and adventures to new & old places makes me feel alive and free. I love listening to all kinds of music and dancing to it too. Capturing nature & sunset photos satisfies my soul.

Other simple things that bring me moments of joy include spending time with family & friends, hiking, rising with the sun, farmers markets, writing & reading, drawing mandalas to ease my mind, skating & rollerblading, creating DIY beauty products, putting a record on, enjoying a drink or 2, home cooked meals, baking and eating chocolate chip cookies, dog~sitting and tending to my plants.
